Albany State University head football coach Quinn Gray, Sr. has announced his 2024 recruiting class. Gray and his staff have added 25 incoming freshmen/transfers for the 2024 season.
“We’re excited to welcome the new class of Golden Rams,” said second-year head coach Quinn Gray, Sr. “This class for us is truly exciting because they get a chance to help us #MoveTheNeedle. As a staff we went out and tried to find the best talent to bring to Albany State that we thought would be #ALLIN! I have to give my staff a ton of credit for going out and finding the caliber of student athletes that we were able to secure.
Gray went on to discuss how the signees his staff recruited are also exceptional students. “We worked diligently to make sure that we found not only great athletes, but also found motivated students that are #ALLIN in the classroom as well. I believe we are averaging over a 3.0 GPA with the HS student athletes that will be coming to campus in the fall. That not only leads to great leaders in the classroom, but trustworthy athletes on the gridiron.”

The newest members of the RAMily hail from five states with a heavy emphasis on the state of Georgia. There are 12 from Georgia, nine from Florida, two from Mississippi, and one each from Texas and Louisiana.
The Golden Rams went 6-5 in 2023 with an appearance in the SIAC Championship Game. The team will open the season on August 31st when they travel to Valdosta State University.
“We have set the standard for our student-athletes here at ASU and when we recruit young men they have to meet those standards. I believe my staff did a tremendous job of understanding that and bringing in the high caliber prospects that we were in search for! 2024 is going to be a great year for us and we are excited to get them on campus and get started!”

AamearWalton: Achieved 1st team all-region honors twice and received all-state honorable mention twice. He was also named the defensive player of the game four times.
SureesePeterson: Named to the 2nd team all-region in 2022 and received an all-region honorable mention in 2023.
Keshawn Jordan: Accumulated 131 total tackles in 25 games, including 86 solo tackles, 1 interception returned for a touchdown, 19 tackles for loss, and 18 sacks. He was selected as a 1st team all-region twice and received honorable mention all-state twice. Jordan is also a member of the National Honor Society with a 3.2 GPA.
Jimmy Dawson: Recorded 46.5 total tackles, 1 interception, 5 fumble recoveries, 13 quarterback hurries, 5 sacks, and 10.5 tackles for loss. He blocked 5 punts, was named to the 2nd team all-region, and was part of the GHSA 6A state championship team.
Jamarion Davis: Information not provided for accolades.
Myles Joyner: Twice named first-team all-region, he is a two-time state champion with 6 interceptions and 62 tackles. Joyner also contributed to two region championships.
Jaydon Kinney: Passed for 1,500 yards with an 80% completion rate, including 15 touchdowns, and rushed for 300 yards scoring 2 touchdowns. He was named the co-player of the year, achieved the highest GPA for two consecutive years, and received second team all-region honors in 2023 and honorable mention in 2024.
Leon Wesley III: Honored with the Rajjan Bennett award, Wesley was named to the 1st team all-region and received all-state and Georgia all-metro honors.
Andrew Ruffin: Received all-state honorable mention, was named to the 1st team all-region, and led his team in tackles, tackles for loss, and sacks.
JakedrianWright: A two-time GHSA all-state linebacker and a three-time all-region linebacker, Wright also received an honorable mention in the KJCC All-Conference.
DeAmareChambers: While at Tennessee State University, Chambers made 35 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and had 5 pass breakups.
Noah Brown: Described as a highly touted lineman from Fitzgerald, Georgia, with no specific accolades listed.
Tiant Wyche: Achieved impressive statistics with 197 carries for 1,812 rushing yards, averaging 9.2 yards per carry, and scoring 26 rushing touchdowns in 2023. Over his career, he totaled 3,258 rushing yards and 41 touchdowns. Wyche was named the Jacksonville Jaguars high school player of the year, the 22-23 offensive MVP, the F.A.C.A. District 5 player of the year, and was selected for the 1st team all-Gateway Conference.
Deven Foster: Named to the 1st team KJCCC and MVFC all-newcomer team, Foster recorded 26 tackles, 3 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 interception.
Wayne McClendon Jr.: Named first team all-district with no further details provided.
Justin Brown Jr.: Selected for the 2nd team all-Volusia County, Brown Jr. recorded 76 tackles, 64 solo tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 3 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and blocked 2 punts.
Kelton Law: Named to the 1st team all-conference, led his team in sacks and tackles for loss, and was selected for the 2nd team all-state.
RontavionScott: Compiled career stats at JCCC with 9 interceptions, 70 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and 3 tackles for loss.
AydinHenningham: Named to the 1st team all-Palm Beach and the 3rd team all-state, Henningham was also ranked on Rivals (No.65) and ESPN (No.78).
Arthur Jenkins: A 3-star wide receiver according to 247 Sports, Jenkins helped Cardinal Gibbons High School win the 4A state title in 2020, catching 5 passes for 63 yards in the championship game.
William Netting: Named to the 2nd team all-state at Bolles School and received the Mark M. Bradley Award for the most outstanding football player. At Wabash College, Netting was selected for the ALL-NCAC Conference once.
Mikah Lewis: A highly touted player from Houston, Texas, Lewis received over 30 offers from colleges and universities across the country.
Jamari Jones: Named the 2018 Mississippi high school player of the year and 1st team all-region in high school. In 2022, he was the #1 ranked junior college quarterback by 247Sports and Rivals, made the ESPN Top 50 junior college list, was a JUCO preseason All-American 1st team, 1st team JUCO All-American, all-MACCC 1st team, Juco Gridiron 1st team, NJCAA 2nd team, and preseason SWAC newcomer of the year.
Collin McGowan: Named to the 2nd team all-state, was a three-time junior college defensive player of the week, and recorded 79 tackles and 2 sacks in junior college.
Dajon Richard: Rated a 3-star running back by 247 Sports, Richard was a four-time all-state in Louisiana, a 1st team all-district quarterback, and ranked in the top 3 in the state for 3 statistical categories as an athlete. At HIDS CC, he was a JUCO All-American, a three-time MACCC offensive player of the week, and made the 2020 MACCC All-Gridiron Team.
